Policies
Our first meet and greet is free of charge, and may last up to an hour. If additional visits are required to help the pet acclimate to the new caregiver, they will be charged at the same time rate as if it were a walk service (i.e. 30 minute visit - $25)
All pets must be up to date on their rabies vaccine, at minimum, unless medically contraindicated by a licensed veterinarian via written letter. Gemini Pet Care has the right to pause services if proof of adequate vaccination cannot be provided in a timely manner.
We want to work with your pets, not against them! Thus, we will work with the walk gear you supply; however, we may make suggestions if safety is compromised (fit, wear and tear, etc.) We love to educate and collaborate with our clients to find the best possible solution for their pet. That being said, no retractable leashes. One will be supplied by our team for use during our visits if you do not have one. ‘
Gemini Pets reserves the right to bring your pet to the nearest veterinarian in a medical emergency. We will contact you as soon as the pet is in the hands of veterinary care.
If a pet begins to show signs of illness during a petsit, the client will be notified immediately. The client may then decide if they would like to make arrangements for medical care with their primary vet, which Gemini Pet Care will facilitate (i.e. bringing the pet to a vet appointment). Gemini Pet Care will only be financially responsible for conditions acquired as a direct result of our services (i.e. physical injury). Any illness incurred during our petsitting service will not incur a medication administration fee, but will be provided as a courtesy.
In the event that a pet bites, scratches, or otherwise injures a staff member, the client will be informed immediately after the injury has been treated with first aid, and the provider feels safe to do so. We reserve the right to recommend a behavioral consultation with a trainer before services may be resumed, particularly in the case of extreme behavioral concerns. Every effort will be made to understand the nature of the incident, how it may have been prevented, and the next best steps will be discussed with the client. Gemini Pet Care reserves the right to terminate services if we feel that the safety of ourselves, the public, or the pet is at risk.
While we aim to remain flexible with our services, we cannot guarantee same day availability (within 24 hours of requested time). We will do our best to honor all requests in a timely fashion.
Cancellation of services must be performed at least 24 hours in advance. Services cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will incur a 50% charge of the total service price.
Petsitting is subject to a 30% deposit upon booking. To receive a refund, bookings must be cancelled no later than 5 days prior to the first day of service. Bookings cancelled less than 5 days from the start date will receive no refund of deposit. Petsits with deposits that are booked with less than 5 days until the start date will be non-refundable. The remainder of the service balance will be due no later than 24 hours after the last day of services rendered.
Unless otherwise stated or agreed upon, all services that begin early (before 10am), late (after 5pm), or on weekends will incur a $10 surcharge per service. Petsitting is exempt from this charge.
We have a zero tolerance policy for racism, bigotry, and discrimination (towards our staff or otherwise). We reserve the right to terminate services without refund or warning if this behavior is demonstrated.
